| Is   it possible to resurrect a whole animal?A team of international researchers   have brought back the primary component of mammoth blood using ancient DNA   preserved in the bones from Siberian specimens 25 000 to 43 000 years old,   but what are the prospects for the whole mammoth? Professor   Alan   Cooper, Director of the Australian   Centre for Ancient DNA, part of the team that was responsible for   obtaining the Mammoth DNA, talks about whether science is ready to take the   next step.
