Identification of the remains of King Richard III : Nature Communications : Nature Publishing Group
In the first stage, both strands of the mtDNA control region were sequenced in duplicate from both ML1 and ML2 using Sanger sequencing. 26 PCR amplicons were sequenced on an Ion Torrent PGM Sequencer on an Ion314 Chip. The mtDNA sequences of Skeleton 1 and the presumed 19-meiosis matrilinear relative of Richard III, Michael Ibsen, matched completely.
